Targeted Provision (Tier 1 Years 7 - 11)

Targeted Tier 1 Provision is aimed at providing effective support so that students can be successful in mainstream school.  This is either through a regular intervention that creates a supportive ‘break’ from the demands of mainstream to ultimately support a student in being able to manage the majority of a mainstream timetable or through a more time limited and intensive intervention programme that focuses on a student’s engagement with their own learning journey and building a desire to be successful for themselves.

We will be using a range of research based and professionally recommended interventions that focus on developing core personal skills such as resilience, self-esteem and communication combined with vocational short courses and mentoring sessions.  The aim of this combination of interventions will be to help students build their confidence, unlock their motivation and develop their engagement in learning.

The courses will include:

  • Princes Trust Level 1 Award in Developing Resilience.

  • ASDAN Short Courses including Living Independently, Enterprise, Foodwise, Sports & Fitness.

  • Sports Leadership Level 1 Award

  • Mentoring incorporating interventions such as Zones of Regulation, Talkabout for Teenagers, Think Good Feel Good.

Half day and full day sessions are available, which will run over a 12 week period at a time.
